Ones That Got Away

Many of the quilts I have made had been given away.  I loved making each and every one of them but something told me that sharing them would be just as rewarding as keeping them.  I wanted my friends and family to use and enjoy the quilts I made rather than have them stored away somewhere in my home.  Here are a few of the quilts I've given away and one I just can't seem to part with!

I loved it so much I'm making one for myself!
Apple Blossoms for Doris
Even though Doris retired in 2006 (!) she hasn't received this quilt yet.  I just love it and can't seem to part with it.  I've promised myself that once I get the label on I'll give it to her.  Hopefully by the time winter rolls around this year.  (UPDATE:  I did give Doris her quilt only 6 years after I made it!)

For my friend Doris' retirement - "Apple Blossoms"
Purple Log Cabin

Mom's Senior Citizen group was having a craft fair so she asked me and my sister if we would make a quilt for them to raffle off.  Mom paid for the fabrics, Dutchy (on the left) and I made the quilt.  The woman who won the quilt was recovering from a serious illness and sent us a lovely thank you note.
I love the shades of purple from the lightest lavender to the deepest amethyst

25th Wedding Anniversary for Sue and Scott - I finally found the pictures of the quilt my sister Dutchy and I made for our sister Sue and her husband Scott on their 25th anniversary.

Here they are at the party cutting the cake in from of a huge poster of them cutting the cake at their wedding.
